About Us

Our story

Maslow’s Community began in 2016 as a small community shop providing clothing and essential items to people in need. From day one, our goal has been to offer support in a way that respects people’s dignity and gives them real choice.

This commitment led to the development of our voucher system, which remains central to Maslow’s today. We are one of the few charities in Glasgow to offer non-expiring monthly shop vouchers, allowing people to shop for clothing and essentials just like any other customer. Vouchers are renewed each month and are designed to be quick and easy to access.

As demand grew, so did our role in the community.

In 2023, we opened our Community Hub at 94 Langlands Road – a free, warm, and welcoming space where people can meet, learn, and take part in everyday community life. At the Hub, we offer free classes such as English, music, sewing, and arts and crafts, alongside advice and support sessions.

Both our shop and hub are open to everyone, including refugees, people seeking asylum, and local residents.

In 2024, our Community Shop moved to a larger space, enabling us to support significantly more people safely and consistently.

Alongside our shop and hub, we also provide outreach support to people living in temporary accommodation across Glasgow. This helps ensure that those who are most isolated, and least able to travel, are not left without access to essential items.

Our Impact

Maslow’s is a place to feel welcome, supported, and part of something bigger.

Each year, Maslow’s supports thousands of people through:

  • Free clothing and essentials
  • Community activities and classes
  • Outreach to people in temporary accommodation
  • Volunteering and leadership opportunities

In 2025, with the help of our community, volunteers, and partners, we supported thousands of people across Glasgow in everyday, meaningful ways.

It looked like families using shop vouchers to choose what they needed. It looked like friendly faces in our Community Shop, busy classes in the Hub, and warm clothing reaching people who needed it most.

Together in 2025, we:

  • Supported 7,000+ families through our voucher system
  • Welcomed 5,000+ customers into our Community Shop
  • Hosted 6,600+ attendances at our Community Hub through free classes and support sessions
  • Delivered 700+ clothing packages to people living in temporary accommodation

Behind these numbers are real people feeling more supported, more connected, and more hopeful — and a community coming together to make a difference.
